Apple’s supplier Quanta will be manufacturing the new MacBook Pro.

The design of this 16-inch MacBook Pro will be similar to the 15-inch model, with only some minor differences to accommodate the larger display. The launch of the 16-inch MacBook Pro is unlikely to benefit Apple’s aluminum suppliers since this will be a low sales volume product. Rumors suggest that the 16-inch MacBook Pro will have a starting price tag of $3,000.

Apple has usually reserved its September event for new iPhone and Apple Watch unveiling. However, both these products are expected to only get minor upgrades this year so it is possible that Apple could announce the 16-inch MacBook Pro alongside them. My bet is on an October event though where Apple will not only unveil the 16-inch MacBook Pro but also provide more details about the 2019 Mac Pro.

2019 iPhone 11 to Feature 12MP Front Camera, Look Inconspicuous

In his latest investor note, Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple will be upgrading the camera on the 2019 iPhone 11 series to 12MP. The current iPhone XS and iPhone XR series sport a 7MP TrueDepth camera.

The jump in resolution should lead to an improvement in quality and sharpness. The higher resolution sensor should also allow Apple to offer 4K video recording from the front camera, though this is something that will also depend on how powerful the A13 chipset’s ISP is.

Additionally, Kuo says that Apple will be offering a triple-camera setup across its 2019 iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max variants. The primary wide-angle 12MP shooter and 2x telephoto sensor will be joined by a third new ultra-wide angle camera that is quickly becoming commonplace in smartphones released this year. The 2019 iPhone XR refresh will also switch to a dual-camera setup at the rear.

The ultra-wide angle camera sensor will be provided by Sony. It will feature 12MP resolution and 1um pixel size. Interestingly, that is a lower resolution than the 16MP ultra-wide angle sensor used by Samsung on the Galaxy S10 series and the 20MP shooter found on the P30 series.

To better hide the front 12MP camera and the ultra-wide angle camera, Apple will be using a special black lens coating to make them “inconspicuous.”

It is interesting to see Apple add the ultra-wide angle shooter to the iPhone XR as well. This will definitely make it an even more attractive device and help it better compete against 2019 Android flagships like the Galaxy S10 and the Huawei P30 series. It remains to be seen how wide the ultra-wide angle shooter on the iPhone 11 series turns out to be and how Apple handles the distortion and fish-eye issues at the edges. WHAT CAUSED BIGBOSS REPO TO GO OFFLINE?

As you already know, Pwn20wnd dropped unc0ver jailbreak for iOS 12.0-12.1.2 yesterday and the jailbreak community went berserk.

Just like previous releases, the BigBoss default repository experienced a ginormous surge in traffic causing it to go down.

According to Optimo, the BigBoss repository system administrator, the traffic on his servers increased fifteen times.

The problem was exacerbated by unruly users who kept refreshing, albeit unknowingly, their Cydia sources in order to get it working. This only further increased the load on the repo servers.

WHAT’S SILEO?

Sileo is a modern alternative to Cydia – the stock jailbreak package manager – for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It is developed by Coolstar and Nullpixel, the leading members of the Electra development team.

Beginning with iOS 11, Sileo is all set to completely replace the aging installer by Saurik with a fast and lightweight installer. Here’s a quick rundown of its features and functions –


It loads tweaks and packages at blazing fast speeds.


It also trims a lot of fat from the “Sources” section with the all-new “repo unclutterer” that refreshes sources almost instantly.


A clean, flat user interface that has the same look and feel as that of the stock App Store app.

DOES SILEO WORK WITH IOS 12/12.1 OR ABOVE?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with iOS 12, 12.0.1, 12.1 or higher versions. For those of you who don’t know, a jailbreak package manager requires root access to function.

Since iOS 12 and above versions do not have a public jailbreak available, Sileo can’t work on them. Several disreputable individuals are pushing bogus and virus-laden versions of both Sileo and Cydia on websites like YouTube.

As of right now, unc0ver jailbreak is currently incompatible because it is designed primarily for Electra users. In spite of that, the developer team of unc0ver jailbreak is working on a new patch that will hopefully be released soon.

Warning – There’s a Debian package of Sileo floating around on Twitter. Although this package is legitimate, it can conflict with your setup and brick Cydia. If you are able to access Cydia, uninstall it as soon as possible.

Update – You can now safely install Sileo on unc0ver.

Step 1 Open Cydia.

Step 2 Go to Sources tab. Tap Edit > Add and enter the URL of PixelOmer’s repository – http://www.pixelomer.com/repo

Step 3 Now go to the Search tab and enter “Sileo Installer”. What this package does it, it lets you use Cydia along with Sileo without any issues.



Step 4 Tap Install to install the package from its official repository. Press Confirm and wait for the installation to commence.

Step 5 Once the installation finishes, tap Restart SpringBoard.

Step 6 Go back to your home screen and run the all-new jailbreak package manager by Coolstar.

NON-JAILBROKEN DEVICES

Step 1 Launch Cydia Impactor and connect your device to your PC/Mac.

Step 2 Drag Sileo’s IPA file over to Cydia Impactor.

Step 3 Enter your Apple ID username and password.





Step 4 Wait for the installation to finish.



Remember, the non-jailbreak version will not allow you to tweak the stock operating system. You can only use its user interface, which essentially makes this package manager useless if you are into tweaking and modding.

The development team plans to introduce new features and support to their package manager. Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming versions of Sileo.
